About the farmers

Theo has been farming in the Hudson Valley since 2020 and can’t wait to grow on this beautiful land again with Zoe :) They are continuously enamored by the magic of plants and are still in awe that a seed can feed so many – they feel so incredibly lucky to be able to grow food to share with their community. Theo loves eating arugula in the field, spreadsheets, and wearing lots of sunscreen. When they’re not at the farm, you can find them swimming, doing a crossword with Jane, or getting an ice cream at Stewart’s.

Zoe Stojkovic

Is addicted to celery and hot peppers. Zoe loves that farming is about learning to feel comfortable with the unexpected, over and over again. She takes care to celebrate successes whatever their magnitude and finds faith in community to guide her through challenges. She feels so honored to share her love of food with others and to co-exist outdoors everyday with a farm cat, bugs, Theo, and a dream.

Growing Practices

We prioritize soil building through our farming practices and are committed to being a low-input, reduced-tillage operation. We build our soil through cover-cropping, which acts as a green manure to enrich the soil while improving its structure and microbiology. Cover cropping also increases biodiversity on our farm through the attraction of pollinators and birds. In efforts to lessen excessive soil disturbance, we use tarping as a means to avoid mechanical soil cultivation by reducing weed pressure in our fields.

We are organic-practicing and aim to be certified organic by 2027 (organic certification is quite expensive for a first-year business!). Prioritizing ecosystem care is central to our farming philosophy, which is why we follow organic practices on our farm. The land we farm on has been in organic production for 10+ years and we will continue that powerful legacy of stewardship onwards.
